I have done some testing with VirtualBox to see how much of RAM is really needed to run Menuet64. I succeeded with 384 MB.
Officially Menuet64 needs 512 MB of RAM which seems quite a lot for that kind of OS. It's not a criticism, but i'm a bit curious if this could be for instance 256 MB or even less required RAM. Honestly, it practically doesn't matter for me as probably every 64-bit platform has more than 512 MB RAM onboard. I just want to have any idea what stands behind it. Does Menuet64 just need more optimization ? Maybe it's intentional for proper work of kernel or maybe something else.
What i know, is that 64-bit software in general (and maybe especially OSes) need more memory than 32/16-bit. Although i doubt it's the only reason for M64 to require more than 256 MB RAM, i might obviously be wrong, so any info would be appreciated.
