Posts: 2 Jan 26 07 1:59 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None hi��everyone i��m a notebook bios engineer in china��and i��m interested in your os;and i've studied your 32-bit source code.but i found it's not easy to get your 64-bit os's source code.i'm interested in your kernel's style and your source code in ac'97 driver,8139 driver ... i've studied the 64 bit technologies from intel's spec,and have spent some time in it.i feel that to add the page technology in your os will not be easy.but it seems that this is necessary.how did you finish it?i'm so hunger for know this. since i know your os,i've spent a lot of time in study it .i want a deeper study in it,such as having a more tallk with you. my hotmail is tonyblair1980@hotmail.com,you can talk or mail to me.i'm sorry for that there aren't many persons activing in this bbs.

Advanced Member Posts: 477 Jan 27 07 11:46 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hi XIUXIUSI, Menuet64 source code is not currently available since already the Menuet32 source code is being misused by some people. If it were up to me, I'd actually like releasing Menuet64 sources under the GPL. Currently Menuet64 source includes code from us five developers you can see on the contact list and others are not allowed to see the source. Keeping parts of the source closed has guaranteed us privacy and peace of mind which is needed for continuing development. Already Menuet64 has applications, like the HTTP client, which are not present in the 32 bit version. Menuet64 is more of a complete rewrite, not an upgrade to 64 bit processors. It's unfortunate that a few individuals are unable to respect the licenses other developers have chosen for their code. If you want to help us to develop Menuet32 or Menuet64, you could simply compare Menuet with Windows or Linux applications and start your own application project. Best Regards, Ville

Advanced Member Posts: 477 Jan 29 07 11:25 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Menuet64 CD does not have Menuet preinstalled since it's relatively easy to make a bootable CD by yourself. The CD has sources for applications like Doom and Quake but sources for the kernel are not included. The purchase is only for current CD version. But we don't have plans for changing the CD anytime soon either.
