I'm talking about a FULL FAT32 driver, which allows not only to load an image from disk but browse a disk, read / write files, etc like another 'big' OS do with FAT32, NTFS, Ext, HFS, ... Is it already working ?? (in that case, my appologies)

Rohan, that's why I said : .... yet.
I don't think the system itself will grow larger than 1.44MB.
But an OS is nothing without a few apps and suite, which will probably take a lot of place (morethanever when you think apps and suites are not required to be ASM ...)

I don't think that move the OS to a CDrom is a good idea, because while MeOS is still unter development, it'll require a writable media.

Usb sticks would be good because of it's capacity, however there's no USB on old 486.

HDD is a good idea, but not avaliable until a good and reliable native FAT32 driver is distributed along the System.
